Powershop’s solar feed-in tariffs are increasing!

We’ve got some great news for solar customers that’ll give you even more reason to enjoy the sunshine!

From 1 March 2016, our solar feed-in tariffs have increased from 6.4 c/kWh to 7. 2 c/kWh for both our Victorian and New South Wales customers. Our tariffs are now 40% above the rate recommended by the government for 2016.

Why the change? Wholesale energy costs have been on the rise and we think it’s only fair that our solar customers are rewarded for the solar energy they generate.

Meanwhile, we’ve also been working on some exciting things to make the Powershop experience for customers with solar even better. In the coming weeks you’ll see our HeatMaps functionality reflecting the impact of your solar generation. Our commitment to supporting solar customers remains strong and as always, solar customers have access to the same great rates and discounts available to all our customers, with no hidden fees or surprises.
UPDATE: This functionality is now live. Read more

Note: If you’re in Victoria and are on a TFiT or PFiT scheme, you will get the new rates on top of your existing 60 cents or 25 cents. And, if you’re on a Solar Bonus 20 or 60 scheme in NSW, your feed-in tariffs will increase to 22 c/kWh and 62 c/kWh respectively.
